Hot rod reflow systems. Pulse heating is a method of instantaneous heating. The electric current is released from the power supply and then applied to the tip of the heater. The heating tip is heated by resistance, and then the heat melts the solder. When the solder melts, the current is turned off and the solder is cooled. After the solder has cooled completely, the tip of the heater rises from the workpiece. This creates a highly reliable connection without the use of reflow solder and maintains pressure on the workpiece until the solder hardens. Constant pressure allows the parts to freeze before the head releases pressure.
